“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”
- Forest E. Witcraft
Footprints Orphanage is a childrens home in the Shimba Hills in Kenya. Founded by Kerry Watson from Burton-on-Trent, England it provides not only shelter, food and water for orphaned and vulnerable children, but also the quality education, love, security and hope for the future they truly deserve, in a family environment.
2012 saw the construction of school classrooms and now children from both the children's home and the local community are educated at 'Footprints Academy', giving them quality education for quality of life.

Footprints welcomes 19th child
6 year old girl Mwongeli, whose Mum had both legs amputated below the knee, moved to Footprints on 9th Nov 2013. Mwongeli used to have to fetch water and help to grow maize for food and had been denied a childhood and an education.
Now she is safe at Footprints, with a fulfilling childhood ahead of her. The joy and happiness was unforgettable. Not only has Mwongeli joined us at Footprints but we hope her brother Mutinda will be able to go back school and we'll be helping her mum too.
Chicken project begins with delivery of 200 chicks!
Soon we will see the arrival of our first 200 chicks for our chicken project! Their building (pictured) is ready, thanks to generous sponsorship by a family in the UK. We’ll be rearing chickens for meat and eggs for our own use and to sell at market, so we we can be more self-sustainable.
Footprints Acedemy students reach top 10 in county!

We’re teaching 67 children from Footprints and the community with 6 teachers who are dedicated and committed to ensuring quality education is achieved.
